Oh, How I Wish...
Jordan has my camera. He took it on a "guys' weekend" and left it at school in his locker. Disclaimer: I'm not sure if the pics from his "guys' weekend" will be "blog appropriate"
once I locate said camera...so, I thought I'd put together a blog post with
my random iPhone photos from the past month.
Oh, How I Wish...
That we could go down a slide without putting on a snowbib

One Cool Toddler
We have one cool toddler.
Having a toddler is pretty exciting...all the time. If I let go of his hand for one second, he will sprint in the other direction, find the only outlet not covered, pour milk all over himself and Elliot, try to slide headfirst into the snow, climb into the dishwasher, propel himself over the side of the tub headfirst into running water, and splash in every puddle until I have to drag him kicking upstairs to change both of our soaking outfits. Yes, those things actually happened in the last two days. I told Jordan last night that I needed to get some sleep to prepare for what James would do tomorrow. He's the sweetest little pumpkin in the whole world and showers us with a million kisses all day long but he is one active fearless rambunctious little man. He says some pretty hilarious things these days. Every single time he washes his hands or gets in the bath tub, he says "HOT...HOT!!" even if it's ice cold. He knows the name of lots of animals and especially loves elephants. And he says "Daddy bye" all day when Jordan is at school.
For example...he was extremely quiet this evening while I was making dinner. I came out of the kitchen to find this:

So long paper towel roll. :)
Fitting in a freelance article every week is tricky with this little guy. But my wonderful friend Callie told me that I would definitely rather have an active little boy who is crawling under the coffee table and sprinting around every where. She is right. I love my crazy little man.

Stir-Crazy
Cabin fever hit the Campbell house last week. After 20 inches of snow in Chicago and arctic temps all week, James and I were done with being at home. So, we left...and went to the Kohl's Children Museum with our friend Jackson.
And had a Valentine's date with James' girlfriend, Jada, to the Shedd Aquarium.

We also tried to liven up our home with a new accessory for the living room.
I have tried to appreciate, enjoy and make the most of this cold cold month with fun outings, new games and lots of dancing for James but we are both so ready for warmer temps. Fortunately for us, the forecast for tomorrow is 52 degrees! That sounds downright balmy after the past month and we plan to go to the park. Happy Valentine's Day y'all!

Blizzard Day
Chicago is in the midst of the biggest blizzard in years. They are forecasting up to 20 inches of snow in the next two days and Jordan just walked home from his train stop in 50 mile an hour wind. Chicago Public Schools are closed tomorrow for the first time in 12 years. It is crazy here!
All that to say that James and I spent the WHOLE day in our two bedroom apartment today. If you have had an active 15 month old before, I'm sure you can understand what a challenge that would be. But all in all, it was kind of nice to be forced inside all day. James actually had a blast because his mom was forced to get so creative! I took a couple photos of our day because I wanted to remember the blizzard day.
