Happy Halloween

First Birthday

Happy Birthday, James! James is one lucky boy because we have been celebrating his first birthday all week. We have discovered a few new things about our little one year old this week: one, he LOVES cake; two, he LOVES attention; and three, wrapping paper is much more fun than the actual presents. He has a lot of thank you notes to write.

His first birthday party was in Tuscaloosa on Monday with some close friends and family. Lee Lee (my mom) filled up a baby pool with plastic balls and it was James' version of heaven.





Our sweet friends and my dad's partner, Carla and Brian, made him an adorable puppy dog birthday cake.

Uncle Dawson gave him his very first Alabama football!


My Aunt Cathy came up from Florida to celebrate.



And at the end of the night, he was one tired little pumpkin.


Then, last night we had our business school friends over for another birthday celebration.






James' friend Jackson was born on the same day as James!


Even Elliot got to enjoy some birthday cake! Notice, Jackson feeding him some cake in this photo.

And of course, James' girlfriend, Jada, was there to celebrate his big day.

Vanderbilt Homecoming

Jordan and I left James in Tuscaloosa for our five year reunion in Nashville last weekend. We have the best group of college friends and such fond memories from our time at Vandy! Go 'Dores! James' birthday pictures are to come...






* Note: Jordan had a great time too but apparently boys don't bring as many cameras as girls do.

Happy Fall

Fall here makes us understand why people deal with 7 months of cold weather a year. As beautiful as it is though, I can't wait to see Tuscaloosa and Nashville this time of year next week!

We are trying to get a video of Jamester walking but it is so hard to catch him in "action" ... and by walking, I mean he takes three or four steps and sits down. He's not running around everywhere yet but he is getting more confident so I'm sure that day will come.

First Steps

Gooooood Morning

James let go of the coffee table and took his first steps this weekend. We got so excited that he did it over and over and would clap for himself. So cute!

Beautiful Weather

We have spent every waking minute outside this week soaking up the beautiful fall weather. Here are some pics from a field trip we took to Wagner Farm in Glenview, IL (I never thought I'd say those words...).
