Fall in Chicago Is...

Fall in Chicago is beautiful but cold!! It is 47 degrees this morning as we are bundling up to go on our walk, but it is sunny and the leaves are bright red and yellow and it is truly lovely. Granddad and LeeLee visited this weekend and we definitely took advantage of the gorgeous weather! However, if it is this cold in September, what will it be like in January?!?!

Eleven Months Old

Dear James,

You are 11 months old today and I can't believe how big you have gotten! You light up my every day with your velociraptor noises and little giggles. I love your little toes, your huge slobbery kisses and your fuzzy blonde hair. I even love when you are standing up in your crib at 5:30 this morning waiting for me to come play with you. I never thought it was possible to love a little person as much I love you. I can't wait for many more fun months to come watching you grow.

Texas Trip

Sorry for all the posts tonight! We just had such a wonderful time in Mexico and Texas! Jordan and I are so unbelievably thankful for our friends. We stayed with Freddy and Worth in Dallas and James clearly adores them both.


James got to see his very first friend, Henry Litton. Berkeley and I had the most fun being pregnant at the same time and the boys were born just two weeks apart. They are so big now!



And today, I was able to help host a baby shower for Megan Manley and Baby Baxter.




All in all, it was such a fun trip!! Jordan starts classes again on Monday and we are ready to get back into the crazy Kellogg swing of things!

Baby Jack

After Mexico, we flew to the Big D to get to spend some time with my new favorite three-week-old: Baby Jack.




James thought Jack was a really fun new toy and tried to touch him all the time!

Family Vacation in Mexico

James, Jordan and I took a family vacation to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico last week and we had the absolute best time. James got his first tooth while we were there! We are glad he will not be a toothless teenager after all, but teething is as painful as everyone says. All in all, though, it was a near perfect vacation with beautiful weather and fun family times. James is at the perfect age to enjoy the pool and beach.

Afterward, we went to Dallas, Houston and Brenham and got to see so many wonderful friends and family. Returning to a chilly Chicago fall evening tonight we were both a little nostalgic about our fun times in Mexico and Texas. Here are some photos:

My Boys

I was so blessed to be able to spend the week with my four boys: Jordan, James, Elliot...and Dawson!! He came to visit us in Chicago and it is clear that James already thinks he is the coolest - he even taught James how to dance with all his fun music! We miss living down the street from Dawson so much already and were so thankful to spend some time with him.

I can't believe how much James has grown in only 10 months. Here is a photo of him with Dawson the day he came home from the hospital:
