A Very Thankful Holiday

We returned late last night from a nine day trip to Texas filled with lots of family, friends and laughter. This Thanksgiving, we are so thankful for all that we have been blessed with and the Lord's provision in Jordan's job search. He accepted a position in Dallas last week and we are thrilled to be returning to a city we love.

Lately...

Today, Jordan babysat all morning so I could go with some girlfriends to Oprah! We had the best time and the episode will air on December 30th so look for us on TV.

The weather this week has been so fantastic! It warmed up a ton and we have spent every last minute outside. This is the only way we can get around in the block in the stroller right now. James wants to do everything himself these days.

And we loved getting to see our dear friend Brando and his adorable fiance Mary Craig last weekend for brunch. One super fun thing about Chicago is how many people who have visited the city for one reason or another in the short amount of time that we have lived here!

More Halloween Pics and 12 Month-isms

James has been an easy baby at every age and I absolutely adored my 9 month old...BUT 12 months is my favorite stage so far. James is a happy camper most of the time. He sleeps amazingly well and never makes a peep from 7 pm - 6:30 am, takes awesome naps (finally!) and is still constantly starving. Today for lunch, for example, he ate roasted chicken and vegetables, half an avocado, steamed carrots and broccoli, a kiwi, a piece of wheat bread, and an entire banana. AND he is still only in the 25th percentile for weight. I can't explain it. He must have his dad's metabolism. Whenever I start to take the tray away, he grabs it with both hands and shakes his head at me grabbing furiously at whatever food is left on the tray. every.single.time. It's like he will never see food ever again. Our poor starving child. He can say several words now besides mama and dada, including ba (ball), dah (dog), ba ba (bottle), and uh-oh. He LOVES to point and scream whenever the train goes by, airplanes fly overhead or he sees any sort of dog. Balls are his favorite toys and he gives us about a hundred kisses a day. Life is so fun right now and Jordan and I are both loving every minute we get to spend with James. We actually fight over who gets to put him to bed because he is so snuggly and sweet at bedtime and today Jordan asked me twice if he could wake him up from his nap because he wanted to play with him (no way!!).
